Interaction with society

Since its creation, the PPGNC, through its faculty, seeks to expand the knowledge produced in the academic sphere for society with the main objective of solving broad social behaviors in the area of behavioral problem solutions. In such a way that the PPGNC develops actions that pervade these problems, in order to contribute with appropriate solutions to each situation that presents itself. In this perspective, we have as an example the elaboration of workshop projects aimed at traditional riverside populations located around Belém and Island of Marajó, with the aim of making the relationships of these populations with aquatic mammals positive. The result of these workshops was the production of a children's computer game under the title "A place where children play with the dolphins", in addition to a booklet aimed at the adult audience under the title "Aquatic mammals in the waters of the Amazon".

Reduction of prejudice

The Group of Advanced Studies in Evolutionary Psychology (GEAPE), through the teachers Regina Brito and Alda Henriques, conducts studies on the relationships of hetero and homo-affective couples in order to contribute to education for the difference and the reduction of social prejudice with many different. In the area of social networks, the results obtained by the team collaborate with the realization of workshops to support Brazilian migrant women living in Austria, psychologically affected by the loss of their social support networks and by social conflicts.
